Ghosting

Ghosting refers to a player finding out that one or more of their opponents are broadcasting live on a streaming platform such as Twitch.tv or Afreeca.tv, and then tuning into their enemy’s broadcast to gain an unfair information advantage.

As a term ‘ghosting’ is largely used within the CS:GO community, with players of other games generally using the phrase ‘stream sniping‘ instead — although they are both functionally interchangeable.

Ghosting is highly frowned upon and often leads to the offending persons being completely banned from their game, as happened below with MarKE, a CSGO player on Team Quetzal.
